Working at home and having the flexibility to spend time with your child while earning money is most new moms dream.
The internet is riddled with sites trying to lure desperate parents into paying money to gain information about work from home jobs. This should be the initial red flag that the offer is a scam. Companies that are looking for legitimate employees will not charge you to work for them. The only money being earned by the companies charging is the company taking your money. That money is being deposited directly into their bank accounts. Telecommuting JobsThere are a variety of businesses that do offer honest work from home positions and flexibility to work around family commitments. The most commonly available jobs are for customer service agents, data entry and telemarketing. Before providing any confidential information to an internet site or unknown company, remember to check on their reputation. LiveOps, for example, is an online provider of telecommute jobs. A majority of the positions are for customer service agents that take orders and phone calls. The pay is modest, at an average of 25 cents per minute. The only time you are paid is for the actual minutes that you work. There are many other cyber based companies that provide the opportunity for work at home positions. These jobs pay a modest income and are not intended for those wanting to get rich quick. Freelance WritingWriters can work independently from their homes and earn some revenue from their skills. The pay, again, is generally modest and requires that you actually work to earn compensation. Suite101 and EHow are examples of sites that allow freelance writers to earn revenue based on the content of the material they publish. The advantage to many writing sites is that your articles continue to generate revenue on a month by month basis. Childcare ServicesBabysitting is probably the most accepted and longstanding form of employment for work at home moms. Watching other children offers many moms the income they need, while allowing them to stay at home. This can be less flexible and more stressful, depending on the child(ren), their personalities and scheduling needs. It does provide the advantage of allowing children to have social interaction with other kids. Resale & Second Hand MerchandiseInventive parents may find a niche in purchasing items at secondhand shops and auctions to resell for a larger profit. Learn about and focus on specific items before investing in this type of venture. This will prevent financial loss and upset, because the item purchased was of equal or lesser value than the resale price. It is imperative that you learn the market and the demand for products. Artistic individuals may even find a niche for re-purposing items, such as furniture, or refinishing them to increase their value with only minor time contributions.
